TEFL Jobs in Spain
Spain is an attractive country for many TEFL teachers; this may be to-do with the rich culture, sunny climate or relaxed atmosphere. There are many locations throughout Spain offering TEFL jobs, with the majority in the big cities like Madrid and Barcelona.
This Job opportunity is perfect for those who are enthusiastic and engaging. They are looking for TEFL teachers with dynamic personalities, who are over the age of 21. A TEFL qualification is necessary for this position and a degree can be an advantage but is not needed if you already have a strong educational background.
The majority of classes you will be teaching will be ‘general English’ to young learners, but there may be also business English classes where you will be teaching adults. These classes will take place is small privately-owned schools and the number of students will not rise above 12.
Teaching English in Spain
The average salary is around €1100 this can rise up to €1300 in the main cities, though this will vary with location.
The language schools will give you full support and provide you with all the resources you need when you start teaching. They will also assist you in finding an apartment. Teachers often flat share and you can expect to pay €150 - €175 in more rural areas and up to €350 in the main cities.
You can expect to work 4-6 hours per day between 8am and 5pm on Monday to Friday. You are entitled to schools and public holidays, including Christmas and Easter.
